Fun Monday - I Made It Myself

Have some cake.....

Well I was just going to stick mine in with the sticky post but realized it may be a tad too long! And considering my blogger keeps shutting down while Im in the middle of posting I was getting a wee bit frazzled so decided to try again.

Now those of you who visit on a regular basis, know that Im always making something! Or more to the point you also know that I have a tendancy to start on lots of projects at once, therefore not finishing them very quickly! (Or sometimes not at all!) I had to stop and think a bit as I generally post things I make as I go so you've probably seen them all already! I had planned to show you this ....................

but as you can clearly see, its not finished.....I have been under the weather this weekend and instead of polishing this one off, I had my nose in a book or two. Apologies! So anyways, I went on a hunt to see what I could find, that I have not shown you before and lo and behold, In a draw I found a couple of old cross stitch projects that STILL have not been framed. WOOPS!

And a couple that are yet to be finished (yeah yeah I know they are not the unfinished ones Ive shown you before, but the top one cannot be finished until I secure some thread, I ran out!) The one underneath is one I started as the other one I was doing was too hard to see at night!)

Aside from knitting and cross stitch, I occasionally will crochet blankets like this..........

This one is mine, its not too big, I like to sit under it in winter while I attack my other projects! I also made one for TC's bed which is quilt sized!

Below is a little cardigan I knitted years and years ago! It belongs to my doll who is the same age as me, I got her for my first christmas when I was just six months old! She's a tough old bird like me and has been played with by many children over the years! Mr Boing Boing thinks she's a football and likes to hurl her around the house!

A couple of years back I started making jewellery a bit as well. This one, while it might not look like much is my favourite! The shell is from our local beach and is special to me, I wanted a natural look so went with hand painted wooden beads and leather!

Now for those of you who don't come here often and want to see some of my other projects, check out this post from the past, there are a few of my handmade things in there. And here are a couple of those cross stitch projects that everyone else has seen already...these two are my favourites............

Are you still here? Scroll down and visit all my friends, Im sure they have some great things to show you this week! Thanks for dropping by!

Update: To anyone who is that way inclined.......Karisma needs a hug! I have the flu and am feeling a bit sorry for myself, I was not going to come begging for hugs but after trying fix up the links several times and the blogger so rudely deleting them for me, changing the colours and doing all sorts of strange things. My Dinoboy decided today was the day to go on strike and chuck a tantrum. Then to top it off I go into the kitchen in search of soup to find someone has eaten it all and the sink is full of dishes. So "Oh Woe is me! Can I puleeeeese have a hug?"

If you have time please visit Cameragirls blog. She is new to blogging and needs a bit of encouragement! She is also playing Fun Monday this week! Thanks again to everyone for joining in and for all the hugs xxxxxx

Very nice Karisma...the cake looks delicious and fun. Thank you for hosting this first Fun Monday in June. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone is showing today. I like your stitching, and the necklace is lovely.

You are such a handy person! Most of my efforts lately have gone into home improvement rather than crafts, so my efforts are rather old.

I came back to tell you that I got my post up and discover you're needing hugs. Well, have a nice gentle squeeze from me... Just don't squeeze me back until after my surgery! Flu is nothing to sneeze at - it feels awful!

Well, first off...Here is a nice big hug for you (((( ))))...now, on to FM business....you are an incredibly crafty and creative person!! I used to love cross stitch also, but I had to give it up due to carpal tunnel tendencies in my hand. I would love to learn how to knit or crochet...I wish we lived closer so you could teach me..and then I could give you a hug in person and make you some soup!!!

Thanks for hosting and take care of yourself!!

Yes, Karisma, there are lots of fairies in my garden!!! I am sure we would get into lots of mischief so it is probably better that we live a half a world apart!!!

I've noticed your cute knit hat when I've visited your blog before so not surprised that knitting is one of your skills. Have a friend who's wild about counted cross stitch but her work is not as advanced as yours!

And yes, love the kid-pleasing cake. Hope THEY gave you a hug after tantrums.

Lots of lovely needle work. I only wish I had the patience for that!

BIG HUGS for you. I hope you feel right as rain quick as can be!

Karisma you deserve loads of hugs doing this when you must be feeling rotten hope you feel better soon.

Your cross stitch is pictures are lovely, I bet there are lots of little boys who would love to have Thomas on their bedroom wall. I know both my grandsons would have when they were younger.

Your crochet blanket reminds me of one my friend did for me back in the 60's~ my daughter has it now.
Thanks for hosting.

Oops, my comment is gone? Did I do something wrong?

Lots of hugs but also lots of admiration for your beautiful cross stitching.
Thanks for a great Fun Monday this week - looking at everyone else's crafty talents has been great!

I'll start all over again. I was saying:

Ohhhh! You need a hug, you poor sweetheart!
Here's mine *** big, big, hug ***

You are a very crafty lady, Karisma, I love your cross stich projects, whether they are finished or not.
They all look great!
I've done some in my time, but the last one I did kind of ruined my eyesight a little, I have to wear specs since then! LOL!

My post is up, and I have added a how to, so if anyone out there is interested in making a bird feeder wreath, come on over!
I might even show you how we make lace in Belgium if you're interested!
Take care, and have a great(fun) Monday.

Now, shall I do those dishes for you, my dear?

Well first and foremost here is a great big hug....and some cyber soup :o)

Your projects are amazing! I've always wanted to learn how to crochet but just haven't yet. One day. Thanks for a great assignment this week. Get better soon!

You are very talented and you can have a "hug" from me. I hope you get better quickly. If you like Indian art (native American) you should come to Oklahoma.

Junebug said...

Oh Karisma, could I be added to the list? If you're not too sick to do it.

I love all those things you have made. My son would have loved that Thomas cross stitch a few years ago - all he played with! Your blanket is beautiful and the cake so cute!

Here's a big hug! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Many hugs to you Karisma!!
I love the sweater, my dream is to make one like that some day. thanks for the topic, you get to show of your talents without feeling like you are bragging :-)

First and most important--{{{BIG HONKIN' HUGS!!!!}}} You sound like you REALLY need 'em!

Second...s i g h...I so wish I knew how to knit, but I can't seem to pick it up from a book. If you only lived closer, I could bring you chicken soup and you could teach ME how to make those marvelous sweaters!

Your post also reminded me about all the cross-stitching I've done...but given to others. I don't have a single thing I made :/. Yours are nice FINISHED pieces :).

My post is FINALLY up...I could NOT find my blasted pictures...and looked for hours for them! Yes...sadly, hours. When I found them, they were uploaded two months later than I thought they were.

LOL, oh bother!

Thanks for hosting, dear...especially when you're feelin' so low!

:)

I'm most impressed with all your handiwork shared here and looking forward to visiting everyone else. I think my 9th Fun Monday is posted at Small Reflections but Blogger won't let ME log on to see ... so please add me to today's list and hopefully others can visit. I do seem to be able to access other Blogger sites ... it's just MINE that's giving me issues all morning. Sigh! Such is life I suppose.
Hugs and blessings,

Oh, I hope you feel better real soon.

That cake looks too cute to eat. Very cool.

I love to cross stitch too. Since I posted that as one of my collections, with my stash, I linked to that Fun Monday post if you'd like to check it out. When you get around to feeling better.

Happy Fun Monday!

Thanks for hosting this week. You have all sorts of talents!

Hi Karisma, I think you missed me off the list. I'm playing. I love this idea. :D

I've been having trouble with blogger today, too. And, btw, here's a great, big ((((((hug)))))
for you. We all need a hug now and then.

I used to love to cross stitch, but I haven't done that in a long time. I just started crocheting and have shown my first baby blanket for today's Fun Monday.

You are very talented and have made a lot of pretty things.

Wow aren't you creative! Love the cake and am jealous of the knitting (never have mastered that). I too love counted cross-stitch, although I haven't picked it up for awhile. And you don't want to know how lopsided my crochet it. :)
