This weeks 40 or less photo challenge is brought to us with a little bit of spice. Robin wants us to define some condiments. Salt and Pepper to be exact. So without further ado I give you.................
My Sweet Darkness.......

You are the darkness to my light
You match me, bite for bite
And while your heat is much to bear
You bring with you delight
For with your sumptuous twist to life
You bring a spice of joy
You are the Yin to my sweet Yang
You are my taste decoy!
You match me, bite for bite
And while your heat is much to bear
You bring with you delight
For with your sumptuous twist to life
You bring a spice of joy
You are the Yin to my sweet Yang
You are my taste decoy!
Now head on over to Robins place and see what other delights are in store for you!

Excellent job on your ode to salt and pepper. Nice shot, too.
My taste decoy, hmm, I like it. :)
I eat much less pepper than salt, probably too much salt.
That was a tough assignment! I rarely use either one; not sure what I'd write about them!
Ah...I l i k e it! It's hard to think of salt and pepper apart from each other; they go hand in hand (well, they would if they HAD hands!).
I like the way you framed them as compliment to one another; and I agree, they ARE a spice of JOY!
Your poem is great and the picture is superb.
Okay, I confess, since it is Friday, I was looking for your weekly limerick about the man from Nantucket. But really, you have written a fine poem, Karisma, and the photo is quite good.
I really like this. I'm a failure at poetry, except for reading it, so I admire that you can write it.
Thanks for all the kind words everyone! I accept on behalf of the poem, but the photo belongs to Robin. She sets the photo each week and we just play along.
you just keep getting better and better. are you spending your evenings reading poetry at some coffee and book bar?
Had to comment on your wonderful comment on Molly's Round Robin post: her dandelion relative gone to seed, you said "is a wish waiting to be born." How lovely! :)
and again, that is a great poem, I rarely use pepper and I am trying to cut down on salt
Just lovely! Very nice and enjoyable. The last line is great - "taste decoy." :)
I love the lyrical language of your poetry and may try something other than Haiku for next week’s challenge. I’m clearly stuck in a rut … but I did post my 40PC at Sacred Ruminations.
Hugs and blessings,
Bravo Karisma dahling, BRAVO!!
An excellent effort Karisma, I also enjoyed your art gallery post.
